Bugbrooke Strollers

Walk With The Strollers

The Strollers are  a leisurely walking group catering for older walkers who wish to enjoy a stroll through the countryside on a weekly basis.

They meet each Thursday at 10am and each walk takes about 2 hours.  About once a month the walk is in the Parish of Bugbrooke but on other occasions a short car journey is taken to surrounding villages with the walk starting and finishing from the agreed parking place. 

There is no fee for joining the group and the age range tends to be over 50's.  On the last Thursday of each month a pub is chosen as the venue for lunch and the walk starts and finishes from that point.

About 20 people usually take part in the walks, although there are some 50 people who have joined the group at their convenience since the group was formed in 1998.

A programme setting out walks for the 2 months in advance is produced 6 times each year.  This is published in the Link and on village notice boards.

The group is open to anyone wishing to enjoy a sociable and leisurely stroll each week.

The Strollers meet on Thursdays at 10.00.am. for a variety of walks (see latest programme below) which last for about two hours and proceed at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for a chat and a breather.

If you would like to join in, please just turn up. Meeting places are shown in the programme.

All walks take place on Thursdays and meet at 10.00.



March 7th



Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Everdon. Walk to Little Everdon and on towards Newnham. Continue to the Nuttery and return.



March 14th  




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Whittlebury. Walk to Silverstone Circuit and return.



 March 21st




Meet at Community Centre 10.00.am. Walk to Wards Lodge and on to the Banbury Lane Crossing returning via the canal tow path.



March 28th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Roade and park at the Cock pub. Walk to Courteenhall and return for lunch.



April 4th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Great Brington and park near the Althorp Arms pub. Walk via Thornburrow Hill, Glebe Farm, Gawburrow Hill, and return.



April 11th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Blisworth and park at the football club. Walk towards Collingtree, turning back over the railway towards Thorpwood Farm and return.


April 18th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Walk to Nether Heyford, Charity Meadow, Bugbrooke Mill, and return.



April 25th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Abthorpe and park at the New Inn. Walk to Bucknell Wood and return for lunch.
