Walk
With The Strollers
The
Strollers are a leisurely walking group catering for older
walkers who wish to enjoy a stroll through the countryside on a weekly
basis.
They
meet each Thursday at 10am and each walk takes about 2 hours.
About once a month the walk is in the Parish of Bugbrooke but on other occasions
a short car journey is taken to surrounding villages with the walk
starting and finishing from the agreed parking place.
There
is no fee for joining the group and the age range tends to be over
50's. On the last Thursday of each month a pub is chosen as the
venue for lunch and the walk starts and finishes from that point.
About
20 people usually take part in the walks, although there are some 50
people who have joined the group at their convenience in the 6 years
since the idea was first formulated.
A
programme setting out walks for the 2 months in advance is produced 6
times each year. This is published in the Link and on village
notice boards.
The group is open to anyone wishing to
enjoy a sociable and leisurely stroll each week.
The Strollers meet on Thursdays at 10.00.am. for a variety of walks (see
latest programme below) which last for about two hours and proceed at a
leisurely pace with plenty of time for a chat and a breather.

December 1st
|
Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to
Farthingstone.Walk towards Maidford but pick up path from
Litchborough and head past ATC Beacon for Mantles Heath, return
via Golf Course.

December 8th.
|
Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am.Drive to
Church Brampton and park in lay-by on Holdenby road.Walk towards
Cank Farm but take track down to Welford Road and return past
Brampton Hill Farm.

December 15th.
|
Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am.Drive to
Badby and park at the Maltsters Inn. Walk via Badby woods to
Fawsley and return to the pub for Christmas Lunch.

Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to
Everdon and park near Field Centre. Walk over Everdon Hill
towards Fawsley and return.

December 29th
|
Meet at Community Centre 10.00.am.Walk via
Wards Lodge to Kislingbury/Rothersthorpe lane and return via
sandpits.

January 5th
|
Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am.Drive to
Nobottle and park in lane at Nobottle Wood. Walk lane to
Harlestone and return via Midshires Way.

|
January 12th
|
Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am.Drive to
Rothersthorpe and park near Church. Walk to canal and on to
Gayton Arm, returning via flight of locks.
|
|
January 19th
|
Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am.Drive to
Farthingstone. Walk Knightley Way towards Litchborough but
divert to Banbury Lane and return via Littlecourt Yard.

January 26th
|
Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to
Stoke Bruerne and park at Navigation Inn. Walk to Shutlanger and
return via Stoke Park and canal for lunch at pub.
